Shortly after coming to New York, I started to observe and document everyday, generic sights of the city— sights that would go unremarked by city natives but were very new and different to me:
An American breakfast, Chinese take-out, a coffee-shop cake, an American supermarket, hospital wristbands, a bundle of firewood, a piece of glass, condoms, Barbies, broken umbrellas, plastic fruits, vegetables and flowers, a shopping cart.
