Sean Yashar, from The Culture Creative, emailed me in 2017 about possibly collaborating with Maayan Zilberman, the candy-sculpture artist with Sweet Saba in New York. Maayan was to have an exhibition of her creations in Los Angeles.
I went to visit Maayan at her Chelsea studio to photograph the sugar candy sculptures she would show. Each of the five pieces stood about a foot tall. With their amazing colors, they looked more like crystals than sugary sweets.
